N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center and the Master Gardener℠ volunteers in Forsyth County are excited to announce the 2020 Spring “Forks on Friday” lecture series. Pack a bag lunch and join us at noon for these lunch-and-learn sessions about various gardening topics.

February 7 | Creating a Winter Landscape for Bluebirds

Phyllis Smith, an Extension Natural Resources Agent, will be teaching how to prepare your landscape for bluebirds who will soon be looking for nesting sites. This class will enable you to support bluebirds in your yard, including plant selections and proper installation of nesting boxes.

March 6 | Sustainable Home Gardens

Amanda Lanier, the Reynolda Gardens Curator of Education, will be showing how to explore the role of sustainability in home gardens, including tips you can bring home and implement in your landscape.

POSTPONED: April 3 | Tried and True House Plants

Sheilah Lombardo and Amy Bridges,  Master Gardener volunteers in Forsyth County, are going to show you that yes, you can grow beautiful, healthy houseplants if you choose wisely and pay attention to their modest needs. Come learn about reliable plant selections and tips to keep them looking their best!

CANCELLED: April 24 | Native Plants for Your Garden AND Annuals Too!

Barbara Trueheart, Bob Le Pere, and Polly Hixson, Master Gardener volunteers in Forsyth County, will be exploring native plant options for your garden as well as annual plants. This program will showcase annual plants grown at the Arboretum at Tanglewood Park, for the upcoming Spring Plant Sale.

And be sure to join us at the EMGV Spring Plant Sale, May 1-2, at the Arboretum and Gardens at Tanglewood Park!
