The Department of Agribusiness, Applied Economics and Agriscience Education at North Carolina A&T State University has received a project grant funded by the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. This grant can help farmers with registration costs for the North Carolina Agritourism Farm Tour (Day 1) and Conference (Day 2) conducted by the North Carolina Agritourism Networking Association). The grant will support conference costs for the farm’s principal operators and one additional farm operator, a value of $500+. The grant cannot support your one-night lodging costs.

The conference will be held February 18 th – 20 th , 2024 in New Bern, NC at the Double Tree by Hilton New Bern Riverfront and includes a tour of farms with agritourism activities, access to exhibitors, speakers, and relevant/informative session topics helpful for the aspiring, beginner, or seasoned farmer.

The conference will include sessions such as: “Agritourism in America: Why is it the Nation’s Fastest Growing Entertainment Sector,” “Social Media,” “Harvesting Prosperity,” “Succession Plan/Estate Planning,” “Food & Beverage Strategic Planning,” and “Cutting thru the red tape: county regulations, planning and zoning.” At this conference there will be fellow farmers and experts from all over North Carolina.

Include an overview of your farm including howm any people work on your farm, how long you have been farming, experience and success with agritourism, if any. Be sure to emphasize how attending the NC Agritourism Conference would help you and your farm generate more revenue, expand operations, and/or hire additional workers or increase work hours.
