Take a virtual tour with local oyster growers
All you ever wanted to know about how oysters are grown and harvested from the experts. Go virtually on location with local oyster growers to get a firsthand look at how wild oyster stocks are harvested in North Carolina waters. Following the virtual tours, there will be a Q&A with our experts Dan Bowling, NC State PhD student and Eric Herbst, local aquaculture specialist with the North Carolina Sea Grant.
If you want to enjoy your own oysters during the event, you can support local oyster growers at:
- https://www.nseaoyster.co/
Or find your own local spot through the NC Oyster Trail.
A cocktail ingredient list will be provided ahead of time if you want to make the drink along with our friends at the alumni-owned The Hackney in Washington, N.C.
This event is virtual. Zoom information will be sent to registered attendees the day of the event. The entire program and all breakout rooms will be recorded so you can catch the other discussion topics if you're interested in more than one.
