NC State graduate students expand their agritourism network


The members of the Agritourism & Societal Well-being (At-Sow) lab (Carla Barbieri, Jing Li, and Mirza Halim), attended the recent Agritourism Networking Association Conference in Winston-Salem, NC. The conference provided networking and educational opportunities to 120 individuals involved in agritourism in many ways.

Attendees represented agritourism farms, government and policy-making agencies, and universities from across NC. The conference was a great opportunity to showcase the studies on agritourism the At-Sow team is currently conducting. Mirza, a masters’ student, shared preliminary findings of her study on women in agritourism. Jing Li, a doctoral candidate, discussed some details on her upcoming study on agritourism associations with members of the association.
